Armen and Carnig Minasian are brothers, as well as neighbors and friends of Stone Heritage Properties. We are proud to partner with them, as they continue the traditions of quality, selection, and customer service that are the hallmarks of their third generation family business.
Stone Terrace is Armen Minasian's former home, where he raised his family and where he is known as an institution in Evanston as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and exceptional neighbor and friend to the community. Armen also serves as the Trustee-appointed board of the Art Institute of Chicago's textile committee, and is officer of its Textile Committee. He also serves on the Advisory Council for the Textile Museum in Washington DC, an internationally recognized collection and center of textile study and research.
Carnig is also a neighbor and friend to Stone Heritage Properties, lovingly caring for our collection on-site, and helping to bring these wonderful rugs from all over the world to our on-line offerings. Carnig teaches a course on Oriental Rugs at Northwestern University and lectures at Chicago's Frances Parker and Latin Schools. Both Minasian brothers are certified appraisers and members of the Oriental Rug Retailers Association.
The Minasian team has decades of experience working with interior design professionals, corporate consultants, and private individuals, in search of the finest antique or contemporary rugs and carpets. Since 1897, Minasian Rug Company has been a world-class purveyor of handmade antique, vintage, and fine new rugs and carpets from its headquarters on Chicago's north shore.
We bring these beautiful rugs into our Stone Heritage collection, after the opening of Stone Porch by the Lake Bed & Breakfast and Stone Terrace Bed & Breakfast - both in Evanston. Many of our guests have loved the rugs in our rooms, all selected by Armen and Carnig to be the perfect accompaniment to the well-appointed and beautifully decorated spaces in our luxury B&Bs.
